High Risk Emergency Medicine Hawaii 2026: Expanding Impact and Reach 

Our High Risk Emergency Medicine Hawaii CME conference returned to The Kahala Hotel & Resort from March 10 – 14, 2026, welcoming 227 health care professionals for five days of advanced education, case-based learning, and peer connection. Attendees joined us from across the United States and Canada, as well as Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, Spain, and Belgium, reflecting High Risk’s growing international reach.

This year’s program continued our event’s legacy of delivering high-impact clinical content tailored to clinicians working in urgent care, high risk, and emergency care settings. Participants engaged directly with expert invited and UCSF faculty, as well as fellow attendees, in dynamic sessions, hands-on workshops, and practical discussions designed to strengthen decision-making in high-stakes clinical scenarios.

Distinguished invited speakers included Drs. William J. Brady, Diane M. Birnbaumer, and Michael E. Wysession, with Dr. Brady’s EKG workshop (Critical EKG Lab) drawing especially strong interest. In addition to our invited speakers, the UCSF Department of Emergency Medicine was exceptionally well represented, with 15 faculty members delivering engaging presentations throughout the week. Many faculty, including Drs. Kayla Enriquez and Starr Knight, served as instructors for our highly acclaimed — and consistently oversubscribed — hands-on workshops in airway management and ultrasound.

Meet Our 2026 Speakers

This year’s conference also marked a meaningful expansion of our remote (virtual) learning option. With our hybrid attendance options, up to 70 participants were engaged online at any given time. In just our second year of offering a remote option with a fully interactive livestream and real-time Q&A, we continue to evolve in how we connect with our audience. Building a vibrant online community represents the next step in extending the reach of our long-standing conference, which has become a trusted destination for clinicians seeking rigorous, practical emergency medicine education in a highly collaborative environment. 

Thank you to all who joined us and contributed their expertise this year. We look forward to continuing this tradition at the Grand Hyatt Kauai in Koloa, Hawaii, from March 15 – 19, 2027. Save the date and stay tuned for additional details.
